The Osoyoos Coyotes may not have a lot of wins this season, however they never quit working until the final whistle.
Despite outshooting Kelowna 45-34, including 25-8 in the third period, the Chiefs prevailed 6-3 on Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
Kelowna built a 4-1 lead by the end of the second. The Coyotes pushed hard over the final 20 minutes, getting as close as 5-3, before the Chiefs dashed any thought of a comeback with a late empty net goal.
Chase Kunn, Jake Torres on the powerplay and Spencer Fleck scored for Osoyoos.
In dropping seven of their last eight games, the Coyotes will need to go on some type of a positive run soon if they have hopes of grabbing a post season berth.
Next up is Friday’s (Jan. 23rd) return visit to Revelstoke. The following night (Jan. 24th), Osoyoos hosts Williams Lake, getting under at 7:00 o’clock, featuring Game Sponsor Fortis BC.
