If the Osoyoos Coyotes continue to play the way they did on Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena, a move up the standings will be quickly accelerated. The Coyotes parlayed a workmanlike effort, along with strong goaltending, into a 3-1 victory over the division leading Princeton Posse.
It took Osoyoos just 1:23 to get on the board, thanks to a Jonas Bourchier shorthanded goal. Marko Pavlovic made it 2-0, just over six minutes later.
Following a scoreless second period, Jarrod Gale struck early in the third to put the Coyotes ahead 3-0.
Hunter Arntsen lost his shutout bid less than a minute after that, but Osoyoos held on the rest of the way, shutting down the potent Posse powerplay on all seven attempts.
Arnsten earned the win, stopping 23 of the 24 shots he faced. The Coyotes outshot Princeton 31-24 overall.
