Scoring has been the biggest challenge facing the Osoyoos Coyotes most of the season. As a matter of fact, the Coyotes had managed just three goals in their past four games entering Saturday night’s meeting in Columbia Valley.
Unfortunately, that result was not much different, a 4-1 loss to the Rockies.
An Ethan Torres marker with only four seconds remaining prevented Osoyoos from being shutout for the second time in 24 hours.
Columbia Valley led 2-0 after the first and 4-0 following 40 minutes. Things went sideways early for the Coyotes, who allowed the opening period goals just 25 seconds and a-minute-38 into the contest.
Ryder Hunt suffered the defeat in his Osoyoos netminding debut. Overall shots were close at 31-28 in favour of the Rockies.
The Coyotes hope to salvage something from their weekend road trip, Sunday afternoon (Jan. 11th) in Golden.
