It was a relatively close game through 40 minutes, however the Osoyoos Coyotes poured it on in the third, scoring eight goals enroute to a 12-1 trashing of the Kelowna Chiefs, Wednesday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The eight goals are a franchise record for the most in one period.
Newcomers Joe Davidson (pictured above) and Marko Pavlovic, acquired from the Nelson Leafs at the trade deadline, both had an immediate impact in their Osoyoos debuts.
Davidson scored twice and added four assists, while Pavlovic contributed a pair of helpers.
Jack Pass tallied a hat trick along with one assist. Ethan McKinley extended his personal scoring streak to 15 games, notching two goals and three helpers. Jack Henderson set up five markers.
Carter Yarish with a pair, Coletyn Boyarski, Ethan Floris and Zach Leslie also scored for the Coyotes. Boyarski padded his stats by chipping in three assists.
Kenny Gerow earned the win in net, turning aside 26 of the 27 shots he faced.
Osoyoos outshot Kelowna 46-27 overall.
The Coyotes will no doubt have a tougher test when they host the Columbia Valley Rockies on Saturday night (January 14th), starting at 7:35.
