For the first time all season, the Osoyoos Coyotes have won back-to-back games. They also crawled out of last place of the Bill Ohlhausen Division. One more note that should generate some excitement and hope from Coyotes fans has them just five points back of a crossover playoff spot, with 10 games left in the regular season and three games in-hand over 100 Mile House.
Tuesday night, Osoyoos and Sicamous were battling illness on both sides. However, it was the Coyotes who dug deeper for a 4-2 road victory.
Mason Rudolph, Ollie Halowaty, Marcus Dumas and Ethan Torres, into an empty net, scored for Osoyoos. The younger of the Halowaty brothers was called up to play, which turned out to be a crafty decision by Head Coach Jackson Playfair. Oillie’s marker was his first Junior hockey goal. Jake Torres added a pair of assists. Sam Koester earned the win in net.
The Coyotes took control in the final two periods, outshooting the Eagles a combined 33-11 and 48-26 overall.
Hopefully the players will be able to get some rest and shake the bug running through the team prior to this coming weekend’s daunting couple of tasks.
Osoyoos hosts Beaver Valley on Friday night (Jan. 30th) at 7:00. Game Sponsor is Tim Hortons. The following evening (Jan. 31st), the Coyotes close out the month with a trip to Princeton.
