The Osoyoos Coyotes lost their first exhibition game of the new season, 5-3 to the Kelowna Chiefs, Friday night in Rutland.
Kelowna led 3-0 before the Coyotes were able to get on the board, with less than seven minutes left in the second period.
Luca Pileggi, Lucas Hughes and Nicholas Vopat scored for Osoyoos, who was outshot 35-23. Hunter Arntsen suffered the loss in net.
Some positives from the game included a pair of powerplay goals, while holding the Chiefs scoreless during eight man advantage opportunities.
The Coyotes continue pre-season play on Saturday night (Sept. 7th) at Grand Forks.
