Entering Saturday night’s tilt against Sicamous, the Osoyoos Coyotes had lost two in-a-row and four of their last five games. Needless to say, a 5-3 victory over the Eagles certainly helped to remedy the recent struggles.
The teams combined for five goals in the opening period, with Osoyoos holding a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes.
Two more second period markers made for a comfortable 5-2 advantage headed for the third.
It’s safe to say that the Coyotes controlled the first two periods, outshooting Sicamous 37-18, which included a 21-10 margin in the second.
Crae Dawson, Coletyn Boyarski, Ethan McKinley, Jack Henderson and Carter Yarish each scored once. Micahlind Pelletier had three assists, with Boyarksi and Dawson adding two helpers apiece.
Rhett Harkot stopped 25 of 28 shots to post the win in net.
Osoyoos still trails front running Princeton by eight points in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, while having played two fewer games.
Next up for the Coyotes is Wednesday night’s (Nov. 16th) trip to North Okanagan.
