Despite a 23 point difference in the standings, the Coyotes knew they’d have their hands full against the last place Posse. That was certainly the case in managing a 3-2 victory, Friday night in Princeton.
The start of the game was delayed 80 minutes as the result of a power failure. Once things got underway, it seemed as though neither team could ever establish much of a flow from spending so much time in the penalty box. The two clubs actually combined for a ‘quiet’ 200 minutes in penalties, a number greatly bolstered by several 10 minute misconducts.
Defencemen did all of the Osoyoos scoring, thanks to Payton McDonald-Corea, Levi Brewer and Ethan Floris. The red hot Ethan McKinley assisted on every goal.
The Coyotes outshot the Posse 36-22.
Osoyoos had an impressive four wins and one overtime loss during its stretch of five consecutive road games, becoming the first to reach the 40 point mark.
The Coyotes will be anxious to return home to host Summerland on Saturday night (Dec.18th) at 7:35, looking to move 11 points ahead of the Steam atop the Bill Ohlhausen Division entering the Christmas break.
