A pair of first period goals by long time minor hockey teammates Scott Dyck and Nelson Webster held up the entire game, lifting the Osoyoos Coyotes to a 2-0 victory over the Grand Forks Border Bruins, Friday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
Dyck scored early at even strength, with Webster clicking late in the period on the powerplay. However, the big story had to be the stellar netminding of Hunter Arntsen, who stopped all 40 shots he faced. The Border Bruins outshot the Coyotes 40-28.
Osoyoos concludes its exhibition schedule on Saturday night (September 16th) in Summerland.
The regular season begins with a daunting three game road trip to Kimberley, Fernie and Golden, September 22nd to 24th respectively.
