Only a week previous, the Revelstoke Grizzlies shutout the Osoyoos Coyotes 5-0. That result was pretty much a foregone conclusion after the Coyotes allowed four first period goals.
Osoyoos may also have been blanked 2-0 on Friday night in Revelstoke. However, this outing was totally different. Despite the loss, the Coyotes played one of their best games of the season.
A second period powerplay goal and last minute empty netter were all the Grizzlies could manage against an Osoyoos squad that fought hard and matched every bit of physicality the hosts offered.
Ryder Hunt was outstanding in the Coyotes net, stopping 42 of the 43 pucks sent his way. Revelstoke outshot Osoyoos 44-30 overall.
Saturday night (Jan. 24th), the Coyotes are back home to face the Williams Lake Mustangs. Start time is 7:00 o’clock at the Sun Bowl Arena, featuring Game Sponsor Fortis BC.
