The Osoyoos Coyotes picked up right where they left off, 48 hours earlier, downing the Kelowna Chiefs 4-1, Sunday night at the Rutland Arena. Incidentally, the first road victory of the season.
Combined with Friday night’s 3-0 Sun Bowl Arena blanking of the Chiefs, it made for a home-and-home sweep and now a four game winning streak.
Jarrod Gale scored his first of two powerplay goals in the opening period.
Nelson Webster’s man advantage marker, a James Poole tally and Gale’s second of the game, all came in the middle period, giving Osoyoos a comfortable 4-1 lead entering the third.
The Coyotes played a conservative final 20-minutes, which was scoreless.
Hunter Arntsen picked up the win, going 2-0 over the weekend, sporting a remarkable 0.50 goals-against-average and 98.53 save percentage. Osoyoos outshot Kelowna 39-32 and was a perfect three-for-three on the powerplay,
A four game homestand begins next Saturday (Dec, 9th), when the division leading Princeton Posse comes to town for a 7:00 pm showdown. Game Sponsor, Sun Valley Dental Centre, will give a gift bag to everyone who brings a non-perishable food donation, in support of the Osoyoos Food Bank.
The Castlegar Rebels visit the Coyotes on Sunday night (Dec. 10th), getting underway a bit earlier, at 6:00 o’clock.
