Thankfully the Osoyoos Coyotes scored once on “Christmas Toy Toss” night, however that’s all they managed during Saturday’s 3-1 Sun Bowl setback to the Golden Rockets.
Russell Weatherhead initiated a shower of stuffies less than six minutes into the game, but the Rockets replied with one in each period for just their sixth win in 26 outings.
It was a disappointing way for the Coyotes to enter the Christmas break. Osoyoos has only found the net six times in the last four games, three of which have been losses.
Hunter Arntsen suffered the netminding defeat. Shots were 36-32 in favour of Golden.

Ground will have to be made up very soon if Osoyoos has any hope of making the post-season, now trailing the fourth place Centennials by 10 points for the final playoff spot in the Bill Ohlhausen Division.
