It wasn’t just a monkey the Coyotes got off their back, last night at the Sun Bowl. It must have felt more like King Kong!
James Poole’s powerplay goal (pictured above) with 7:21 left in the third period proved to be the game winner as Osoyoos doubled the Summerland Steam 4-2. The victory snapped a seven game losing streak and when Jarrod Gale scored late in the second period to tie things 1-1, a franchise record for the longest time between goals, a span of 206:30, also came to a thankful end. Four weeks to the day since the last celebration.
Jonas Bourchier and Marko Pavlovic into an empty net, had the other markers. Levi Brewer added a pair of assists. The Coyotes outshot the Steam 46-21, including 20-3 in the first period, a definite territorial reversal from what has been the norm, thus far this season.
Hunter Arntsen picked up the win in net.
The Coyotes are now only one point out of a playoff spot and just four points back of second place in the Bill Ohlhausen Division.
The Chase Heat come to town on Saturday night (Nov. 25th) at 7:00, featuring Game Sponsor Desert Hills Estate Winery.
