Lengthy Road Trip Ends on Winning Note!

When the Osoyoos Coyotes fell behind 3-1 early in the second period on Sunday afternoon in Golden, most supporters probably thought, ‘here we go again!’

However, the Coyotes dug deep, scoring five unanswered goals enroute to a 6-4 victory over the seemingly stunned Rockets.

Ethan Torres and Mason Rudolph each tallied twice, with Taynon Charters and Logan Messer adding singles.  The latter, a shorthanded, unassisted effort that visibly demoralized the hosts.

Jake Torres contributed three assists and Kaelen Halowaty a pair of helpers.  Sam Koester earned the decision in net, stopping 28 of 32 pucks sent this way.  Osoyoos outshot Golden 42-32.

In snapping a five game losing streak, the Coyotes had more goals on Sunday than in their previous five outings combined.  It just goes to prove what this team is capable of when putting forth a strong and relentless, workmanlike effort.

Hopefully that confidence will continue next Friday night (Jan. 16th) at Revelstoke.  Osoyoos finally gets back on home ice for the first time in over four weeks the following evening, Saturday (Jan. 17th), when it battles the Kelowna Chiefs.  Start time is 7:00 o’clock at the Sun Bowl Arena, featuring Game Sponsor the Osoyoos Firefighters Society.
