The Osoyoos Coyotes suffered an 8-2 loss to the Centennials, Friday night in Merritt.
After taking an early lead, thanks to Koehn Obuck on the powerplay, Osoyoos allowed four goals in just over six minutes from which it simply couldn’t recover.
The Centennials scored eight unanswered before Russell Weatherhead’s third period tally.
Jaiden Jakubowski was pulled after giving up a fifth goal. Matthew Sowinski took over, surrendering three more.
The shots weren’t all that one-sided at 38-28 in favour of Merritt. The Centennials took better advantage of their scoring opportunities.
A somewhat tame game got feisty late as the teams combined for 139 penalty minutes in the final period alone, comprised mainly of misconducts.
The Coyotes continue to struggle on the road, falling to 1-4-1-0 away from the Sun Bowl Arena.
