The Osoyoos Coyotes won their fifth straight in convincing fashion, crushing the Rebels 6-1, Friday night in Castlegar.
The Coyotes scored the first three goals and last three goals, building a 3-0 first period lead on a pair of Ethan McKinley markers, as well as a single from Crae Dawson. The Rebels got on the board late to make it 3-1 after 20 minutes.
Coletyn Boyarski’s first of two gave Osoyoos a 4-1 advantage heading to the third. Zach Park and Boyarski’s second tally in the final period put the game completely out of reach. Jack Henderson, Park and Zach Leslie each contributed a couple of assists.
Rhett Harkot was the victorious netminder. The Coyotes outshot Castlegar 34-28 in what was truly a perfect road performance.
Saturday night (Dec. 17th), Osoyoos travels to Nelson for its final game prior to the Christmas break, before returning to action on Friday, December 30th when the division leading Princeton Posse visit the Sun Bowl, getting underway at 7:35 pm.
