Scoring just one goal in their last two games, both home ice losses, certainly isn’t going to translate into a lot of wins for the Osoyoos Coyotes.
The Princeton Posse spoiled the Sun Bowl Arena’s 50th Anniversary celebrations by topping the Coyotes 3-1 on Friday night.
It’s not as if Osoyoos didn’t have its fair share of chances. The Coyotes outshot Princeton in every period and 51-31 overall.
The Posse tallied once in each of the first two periods to take a 2-0 advantage into the third.
Osoyoos finally got on the board, thanks to a Spencer Fleck powerplay marker, with just under nine minutes remaining to make it 2-1. However, that momentum quickly fizzled when Princeton scored a mere 10 seconds later to regain its two goal lead.
Hunter Arntsen suffered the netminding defeat as the Coyotes dropped their third straight to fall to 2-4-0-0, last in the Bill Ohlhausen Division.
Tomorrow (Saturday) night, the Osoyoos Coyotes venture north to face the Sicamous Eagles. Osoyoos hosts the Posse once again next Wednesday night (Oct. 16th) at 7:00, featuring Game Sponsor Valley First.
