The Osoyoos Coyotes looked great for over 47 minutes. However, it was from that point forward which resulted in a 6-3 loss to the Revelstoke Grizzlies, Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The Coyotes and Grizzlies played a fast, even, exciting and almost penalty free contest that saw Osoyoos hold a 3-1 lead by the 7:04 mark of the final period. Shortly thereafter is when the roof quickly caved in.
Revelstoke scored twice in just 15-seconds to tie things 3-3 and two more times only 54-seconds apart not long after to stun the partisan crowd and take a 5-3 advantage. The sixth goal was into an empty net, but still five unanswered against in a span of less than nine minutes.
A young group of Coyotes continues to have trouble closing out games.
Mason Rudolph, Hunter Jaman and Jake Torres had the Osoyoos markers. Logan Bates added a pair of assists.
Shots were actually 43-37 for the Coyotes. Sam Koester suffered the defeat in net.
What was quite unique is that Osoyoos didn’t record a single infraction and the Grizzlies were issued just three minor penalties.
Now mired in a five game losing streak, the Osoyoos Coyotes will spend the next three games on the road trying to get back on track. Friday night (Dec. 12th) in Quesnel, Saturday night (Dec. 13th) at Williams Lake and Sunday afternoon (Dec. 14th) versus 100 Mile House.
