The Osoyoos Coyotes could never fully recover from a listless couple of periods, losing 5-3 to North Okanagan in the opening game of their Bill Ohlhausen Division Best-of-Seven, Semi Final Playoff Series, Friday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The Coyotes found themselves down 3-0 following 20 minutes and 4-0 beginning the third. However, they made a game out of it in the final period, bringing the crowd to life by scoring three goals in just 4:08 to pull to within one at 4-3.
Unfortunately, that’s as close as Osoyoos would get as the Knights got a late insurance marker to put the game out of reach for good.
Hunter Harwood, Coletyn Boyarksi and Ethan Floris had the goals. Ethan McKinley added a pair of assists.
Kenny Gerow was tagged with the defeat, pulled after only five minutes upon allowing three goals on 13 shots. North Okanagan outshot the Coyotes 39-34.
Having relinquished home ice right away, Osoyoos will attempt to even the series at home on Saturday night (Feb. 18th), getting underway at 7:35.
