A Promising Season Ends Early for the Coyotes!

The Osoyoos Coyotes looked to build on the momentum of a huge come-from-behind road victory in Game Four of their Bill Ohlhausen Division Best-of-Seven, Semi-Final against the North Okanagan Knights.  However, it wasn’t to be as the Coyotes were eliminated from the playoffs with Friday night’s 5-3 loss at the Sun Bowl Arena.

As it had been for much of the series, Osoyoos came out slow and was forced to play catch up.  The Knights were up 2-0 just over seven minutes into the game, but the Coyotes did find life before the end of the period thanks to a Joe Davidson marker.

The teams traded goals in the second period, with Carter Yarish scoring his first of two for Osoyoos.

Despite dominating most of the third, North Okanagan took a 4-2 lead which held up until the final minute when Yarish potted his second of the game as time winded down.  A short time later, the Knights sealed the series by getting an empty netter.

Jack Henderson assisted on all three goals.

Rhett Harkot absorbed his fourth loss of the post-season after taking over for starter Kenny Gerow following the first period.

The Coyotes outshot North Okanagan 42-34 in what has to be considered one of the more disappointing playoff exits in club history.

The Osoyoos Coyotes host their annual Spring Prospect Camp, April 28th to 30th.
