Alex Ochitwa Rallies the Coyotes to Victory!

Alex Ochitwa scored twice late in regulation time and completed his natural hat trick in overtime to give the Coyotes a 6-5 come-from-behind win over the Chiefs, Friday night in Rutland.

After going up 3-1 with less than 11 minutes remaining, Osoyoos appeared to be well in control and on the way to its first road victory of the season.  However, Kelowna exploded for four goals in a span of 5:15 to take a 5-3 lead.  Just 35-seconds later, Ochitwa tallied his first of three, tying the game 5-5 a mere seven seconds after that.

The Coyotes received a powerplay early in three-on-three at which point Ochitwa completed his heroics at 1:20 of overtime.

Ryan Bester, Jarrod Gale and Jack Henderson had the other Osoyoos goals.

The Coyotes dominated on the shot clock by a count of 49-24 in improving to 7-0-1-1, still first in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, now three points ahead of the second place Chiefs, with a game in-hand.  Osoyoos also remains the only KIJHL team yet to lose in regulation.

Next is a home game against the Princeton Posse on Friday, November 5th at 7:35 pm.
