The Osoyoos Coyotes figured they’d have their hands full this weekend, which certainly turned out to be the case.
Saturday night in Princeton, the Posse rolled over the virus stricken Coyotes 9-3. It was the second straight game allowing nine goals against after being blitzed 9-2 by Beaver Valley just 24 hours earlier.
A minute into the second period, Osoyoos was already down 4-0. Chase Kunn, with his first of two, got the Coyotes on the board. Mason Rudolph rounded out the scoring late in the third period. In searching for some type of positive, two of the three tallies came on the powerplay.
Former Posse netminder Sam Koester was the unfortunate victim of all nine goals. Princeton outshot Osoyoos 44-26.
Down to eight games left in the regular season, the Coyotes would need to go on a pretty impressive run to qualify for the post season. Osoyoos remains five points out of a crossover playoff spot, holding three games in-hand over 100 Mile House.
Next Friday night (Feb. 6th), the Coyotes travel to Chase. Then it’s a return visit from Princeton on Saturday night (Feb. 7th), getting underway at 7:00 at the Sun Bowl Arena, featuring Game Sponsor Nesters Market.
