Osoyoos overcame a two goal deficit to defeat Princeton 4-2 on Monday night (Feb. 28th) at the Sun Bowl Arena and eliminate the Posse from the 2022 Playoffs, capturing the Bill Ohlhausen Division, Best-of-Seven, Semi-Final Series, four games-to-one.
Things looked a bit foreboding for the Coyotes, who were absolutely sluggish early, trailing 1-0 after the first and 2-0 a little over seven minutes into the second period.
However, Kaleb Kremp got Osoyoos on the board, followed by a Jack Henderson tally only 28-seconds later. That quickly, the Coyotes had tied the game 2-2.
Alex Ochitwa scored the game winner 3:59 into the third. Ethan McKinley added some insurance on the powerplay, with just 1:03 remaining.
McKinley and Henderson also had two assists apiece.
Final shots were 47-24 in favour of Osoyoos. Kenny Gerow earned his fourth win of the playoffs, probably best remembered in this one for making two stellar saves late to preserve a 3-2 lead, while his teammates played passively during a five minute man advantage.
The result sets up a Bill Ohlhausen Division, Best-of-Seven Final between the Coyotes and Steam, getting underway on Friday night (Mar. 4th) at 7:35 in Osoyoos. The Steam also ousted Kelowna in five games.
