Coyotes Come Up Short in Armstrong!

It was the best overall effort to date, but still not enough as the Osoyoos Coyotes lost their fourth straight road game to start the season on Friday night, 3-2 to the North Okanagan Knights.

As has been the case in three of the four outings, Osoyoos was tied at the end of the opening period.

Jayden Attwood’s hard wrister from the blueline late in the first made it 1-1 after 20-minutes.

The Knights scored the only goal of the middle period to take a 2-1 advantage headed for the third.

They added some insurance early in the final period to go in front 3-1, a lead that stood until Scott Dyck knocked the puck into the net with just five seconds remaining, while goaltender Hunter Arntsen sat on the bench in favour of an extra attacker.  Obviously, too little, too late.

Some weak defensive zone turnovers continue to haunt the Coyotes, who had their fair share of scoring chances.

Arntsen took the loss in goal.  North Okanagan outshot Osoyoos 35-30.

The Coyotes will be looking to snap the four-game skid when they host the Knights in their home opener on Saturday night (September 30th), beginning at 7:00 at the Sun Bowl Arena.
