For the first time all season, the Osoyoos Coyotes have won back-to-back games. The tail end of a two-for-two weekend was Saturday night’s 5-2 victory over the visiting Chase Heat.
The Coyotes came roaring out of the gate, scoring four goals in a span of just 3:47, including a pair on the powerplay and two only 15-seconds apart.
Jarrod Gale, Nelson Webster, Marko Pavlovic and Asher Makway did the early damage. A 4-1 lead held up until the 6:00 mark of the third period when Chase drew a bit closer at 4-2. However, Webster’s second of the game into an empty net left the end result without a doubt.
Hayden Lee earned the goaltending win, stopping 28 of 30 shots. Osoyoos outshot the Heat 44-30 overall.
Was the support of all the attending family members the boost the team needed? Who knows? But those in attendance certainly witnessed a much more confident hockey club that managed to pot nine goals in two games on the heels of a seven game losing streak, a portion of which featured a franchise record scoring drought of 2:06:30.
The Osoyoos Coyotes hope to carry this success into next weekend’s home-and-home against the Kelowna Chiefs. The Coyotes host the Chiefs on Friday night (December 1st) at 7:00, featuring Game Sponsor Osoyoos Home Hardware, prior to travelling to Rutland, Sunday night (December 3rd).
