Coyotes Cruise Past Lowly Chiefs!

The Osoyoos Coyotes parlayed a six goal second period into a 7-2 victory over the Kelowna Chiefs, Tuesday night in Rutland.

After missing seven games with an upper body injury, Carter Yarish (pictured above) made a successful return, scoring twice and adding a pair of assists.  The exact same can be said for linemate Ethan McKinley, who also had two goals and two helpers.  The third piece of the lethal trio, Jack Henderson, tallied once and contributed three assists.  Hunter Hardwood followed the trend of the aforementioned by notching a couple of goals of his own.

The Coyotes led 1-0 at the end of the first period and took a more than comfortable 7-0 advantage into the third.

As they eased up in the final period with the game well in-hand, the Chiefs chose to end their dismal season on a chippy and aggressive note.

The two teams combined for 170 minutes in penalties, 104 of which occurred in the last two-and-a-half minutes.  That included five minute fighting majors to both Yarish and Austin Rampone, who will obviously each face a one game suspension.

Affiliate Tayton Stewart picked up the win in net, stopping 26 of 28 shots.  Osoyoos outshot Kelowna 38-28.

The Coyotes finish the regular season by hosting Kamloops on Friday night (Feb. 10th) at 7:35, before venturing to Revelstoke, Saturday night (Feb. 11th).
