Coyotes Enter the Playoffs on a Losing Note!

Despite holding much of the territorial play and putting over 50 shots on net, the Osoyoos Coyotes were beaten 5-3 on Saturday night in Revelstoke.

The teams were tied 1-1 after the first and 2-2 following 40 minutes of play.  The second period is when Osoyoos should have taken advantage and really pulled away, outshooting the Grizzlies 24-7.

The Coyotes actually took a 3-2 lead just over three minutes into the third, before seeing Revelstoke battle back with three straight enroute to the win.  It didn’t help that Austin Rampone and Payton McDonald-Corea both took five minute major penalties in the final period, each likely resulting in suspension, affecting their status for next weekend’s playoffs.

Joe Davidson, Ethan McKinley on the powerplay and Carter Yarish scored the Osoyoos goals.

Kenny Gerow suffered the goaltending loss, during which the Coyotes held a 51-42 edge in shots.

The second season begins next Friday night (Feb. 17th) in Osoyoos, when the Coyotes begin their Bill Ohlhausen Division Best-of-Seven, Semi-Final Playoff Series against the North Okanagan Knights.
