It’s a weekend to forget for the Osoyoos Coyotes, who failed to register a single goal, in seeing their losing streak stretched to seven games.
After being shutout 5-0 in Revelstoke on Friday night, the Coyotes were trounced 8-0 by Beaver Valley, Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
Final shots during Beaver Valley’s dominant performance were 61-13 in favour of the Nitehawks, including 26-1 in the third period. Hunter Arntsen was pulled from the net following Beaver Valley’s sixth goal. Hadyen Lee took over, allowing two more in relief.
Osoyoos has been held scoreless for more than eight-and-a-half periods, 170:23 to be exact.
You have to dig very deep to uncover any positives at this point. Other than the fact that the next four games are against sub .500 teams, such as Summerland, Chase and Kelowna twice.
This is an extremely fragile hockey club, simply trying to find a way to at least be competitive.
Back-to-back home games are next on the schedule. The Steam visits the Coyotes Friday night (Nov. 24th), featuring Game Sponsor Baldy Mountain Resort. The Heat rolls in on Saturday night (Nov 25th), with Desert Hills Estate Winery the Game Sponsor. Each gets underway at 7:00 o’clock.
