Despite nearly double the number of shots on goal, the Osoyoos Coyotes found themselves on the short end of a 3-2 result to the Chase Heat on Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The Heat turned an offensive zone face-off into the game winner with only 16.4 seconds remaining in regulation time.
Logan Messer opened the scoring for the Coyotes, who led 1-0 after the first period but trailed 2-1 entering the third. Mason Rudolph tied things just past the five minute mark of the final period.
Jaiden Jakubowski suffered the loss in net. Overall shots were 50-26 favouring Osoyoos.
After an extremely disappointing setback, the Coyotes now prepare for back-to-back home games on a Parent Weekend. Friday night (Nov. 28th), the Kelowna Chiefs come to town, followed by a visit from the Princeton Posse on Saturday night (Nov. 29th). Start time for both is 7:00 o’clock, featuring respective Game Sponsors Fortis BC and Boostoyoos Yoga & Wellness Bar.
