Coyotes’ Neuman signs with MJHL Flyers

Osoyoos Coyote Tegan Neuman has signed to play for the Winkler Flyers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.

The West Kelowna product spent two seasons in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. This past season, Neuman had 41 points in 39 games with the Coyotes and Kelowna Chiefs. He had one point in 15 Teck Cup playoff games.

Neuman, 18, began his KIJHL career with his hometown Chiefs in 2020-21, where he had a goal and three points in four games.

“I am super excited to be taking the next step in my hockey journey at the Junior A level with the Winkler Flyers,” said Neuman. “I’ve heard great things about their program and after speaking with Coach Justin Falk, it just felt like the right place for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

Neuman is thankful for the opportunity to join the Coyote as he felt welcomed by Head Coach Carter Rigby and the team instantly.

“They pushed me everyday to become a better person and hockey player,” he said.

“I’m happy for Tegan to get a shot at the Junior A ranks,” said Rigby. “When we traded for him last year, he stepped in and was an impact player right away for us. At 17, he was over a point-per-game player and helped our group tremendously. Not only is he a good player, he’s a great teammate and deserves to move on. Good luck Neaummy on your new adventure.”
