Coyotes Struggle at Home Against Castlegar!

The Osoyoos Coyotes knew they would be hard pressed to come away with any points in facing two of the league’s elite teams, both at the Sun Bowl Arena.

After dropping a 6-2 decision to the Princeton Posse on Saturday night, the Castlegar Rebels handed Osoyoos a 4-1 loss, Sunday night.

The Coyotes trailed the Rebels 2-0 following 20-minutes, a score that held up through two periods of play.  Mind you, the second period was not without controversy.  Osoyoos thought it had cut the deficit in half, however the referee waved the goal off, choosing not to consult with the goal judge, who was quite confident the puck had crossed the goal line.  Castlegar went on to tally twice more early in the third to put the game out of reach.  Caden Cygan spoiled the shutout bid with 6:37 remaining.

Hayden Lee suffered the loss in net.  The Coyotes were outshot 48-29.

Despite the disappointing weekend, Osoyoos didn’t lose any ground in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, remaining in third place, three points back of second place Kelowna, with four games in-hand on the Chiefs.

Wednesday, December 13th at 7:00, the Coyotes host North Okanagan on a “2-for-1 Ticket Night!” Anyone who purchases a Walk-Up Ticket to the game is able to have someone join them at no additional charge.

And remember to bring a new or ‘gently used’ stuffie to the Friday, December 15th game versus Summerland for the annual “Christmas Toy Toss.”
