Coyotes Survive a Nail Biter with the Bears!

The Osoyoos Coyotes won their eighth straight road game on Saturday night, edging the Border Bruins 2-1 in Grand Forks.

After a scoreless first period, Jack Henderson and Ethan McKinley tallied just over six-and-a-half minutes apart in the second to give Osoyoos a 2-0 lead.  Both also added an assist on one another’s markers.  The red-hot McKinley (pictured above) extended his current scoring streak to 13 games, counting 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points during the span.

The Coyotes dominated the Border Bruins through two periods, outshooting them 38-25.

However, the third period was a different story.  Grand Forks scored only 39-seconds in and pressed hard all period to tie the game, outshooting Osoyoos 17-5 over the final 20 minutes.

Rhett Harkot was again calm, cool and outstanding in net, allowing just the one goal on 42 shots.

There’s little time to savour the victory as the Coyotes are right back at it on Sunday afternoon (January 8th) against the North Okanagan Knights, getting underway at 4:05 at the Oliver Arena.
