Fernie Roughs Up Young Coyotes!

It took the Ghostriders just over two minutes to break the ice and they never looked, cruising to a convincing 8-3 victory over the Osoyoos Coyotes, Saturday night in Fernie.

Despite being visibly outplayed, the Coyotes only trailed 3-2 after the first period, with Scott Dyck on the powerplay and Asher Makway scoring for Osoyoos.

The Ghostriders continued their dominance throughout the game, tallying the next five straight, leading 6-2 after two and 8-2 before Dyck notched his second of the night late in the third, again on the man advantage.

Hunter Arntsen faced a lot of rubber, allowing all eight goals before being pulled for Tayton Stewart.

Fernie outshot the Coyotes 66-21, according to the in-house stats, which may have been slightly padded in favour of the home team.

Osoyoos hopes to salvage one win of their three-game opening weekend when they face the Rockets on Sunday afternoon in Golden.
