Grizzlies Now Just a Win Away From Clinching the Series!

Despite a concerted effort, the Coyotes fell 3-1 to Revelstoke in Game Three of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference Final on Friday night.

That gives the Grizzlies a commanding 3-0 lead and chance to sweep Osoyoos, tomorrow night on home ice.

Revelstoke scored powerplay goals in each of the first two periods.  The Coyotes made things interesting in the third, with Blake Astorino cutting the deficit in half on the man advantage at the 4:29 mark.

Osoyoos continued to push, aided by four consecutive powerplays, but just weren’t able to tie the game.

The Grizzlies added some insurance late for a 3-1 final.

The Coyotes actually outshot Revelstoke 40-34, including 25-17 over the final two periods.  Kenny Gerow was tagged with the loss.

A few favourable bounces and converted opportunities certainly could have created a different result.  Zachary Park may be the one most haunted by his chances, failing to score on a couple of different clear cut breakaways.

As mentioned, Osoyoos will need a victory tomorrow night (Mar. 19th) to stave off elimination and force a Game Five back at the Sun Bowl Arena on Sunday night.
