Heat Edge the Coyotes in a Shootout!

The Osoyoos Coyotes went to a shootout for the second straight game, only this time finding themselves on the short end of a 4-3 result, Friday night in Chase.

Ethan McKinley scored on the powerplay and Kaleb Kremp shorthanded, both in the first period, contributing to a 2-2 tie which held up until the 11:16 mark of the third when the Heat took a 3-2 lead.  However, as goaltender Kenneth Marquart sat on the bench in favour of an extra attacker, Payton McDonald-Corea forced overtime with only 58-seconds left in regulation.

The Coyotes had numerous chances to win the game during the extra five minutes, including a Crae Dawson breakaway in the dying seconds.

Newcomer Tegan Neuman, acquired just yesterday from Kelowna, was the only Osoyoos player to score in the shootout, which lasted five rounds.

The shots through 65-minutes were 49-36 in favour of the Coyotes, who saw their six game winning streak snapped.

Osoyoos will try to rebound Saturday night (Dec. 11th) in 100 Mile House when they visit the Wranglers.
