KIJHL Power Rankings Week 17 – (Jan. 15)

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 17th week of regular season action for the 2022-23 season. Week 14 was during the Christmas break. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide final positions.

Princeton Posse

Last Week: 1

Record: 24-5-3-3

The Posse stay at No. 1 after splitting their games on the weekend. They opened with an 8-3 loss to Columbia Valley, then defeated the Summerland Steam 4-1. Dayton Nelson led the Posse with three goals and five points.

Columbia Valley Rockies

Last Week: 2

Record: 24-7-0-2

The Rockies maintained their No. 2 position after they split their weekend games. They started with an 8-3 win over Princeton, then dropped a 4-2 decision to Osoyoos. They were led by Kobe Mason who had four goals and an assist. He netted three against the Posse.

Kimberley Dynamiters

Last Week: 3

Record: 25-7-1-2

The Dynamiters stay in the No. 3 position after winning both their games last week, 3-2 versus North Okanagan in overtime and 1-0 against the Kelowna Chiefs. Defenceman Cam Reid led with three points in two games, including the game-winner against North Okanagan.

Revelstoke Grizzlies

Last Week: 4

Record: 20-5-3-4

Last weekend the Grizzlies hosted the 100 Mile House Wranglers for a pair of home games, winning 6-2 and 5-1. Carter Bettenson led with four points, while goalies Owen Albers and Jozef Kuchaslo shared the crease.

Osoyoos Coyotes

Last Week: 5

Record: 21-8-3-1

The Coyotes won both their games last week, beginning with a 12-1 victory over Kelowna, then doubling up Columbia Valley 4-2. New addition Joe Davidson led the Coyotes with seven points, while Jack Pass had four goals.
