Time ran out on the Osoyoos Coyotes, Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The Coyotes weren’t able to completely recover after being behind early, dropping a hard fought 4-3 decision to the visiting Merritt Centennials.
Merritt led 1-0 after the first and 3-0 by the 8:25 mark of the second.
Osoyoos got on the board with Josh Douglas (pictured above) scoring his first of two, but the Centennials regained their three-goal lead late in the second period to take a 4-1 advantage to the dressing room,
Douglas and Koehn Obuck only 1:13 apart in the latter stages of the third made it interesting, however the Coyotes just couldn’t find the equalizer.
Finals shots were 31-29 in favour of Merritt. Jaiden Jakubowski suffered the netminding defeat.
No doubt a tough loss to swallow for the Osoyoos Coyotes. Mind you, the team is playing some very entertaining and competitive hockey, making positive strides as things move forward.
There’s only one game next weekend, Saturday night’s (Oct. 18th) hosting of the Quesnel River Rush, getting underway at 7:00 o’clock.
