Lethargic Performance Results in Defeat!

It was, without a doubt, the Coyotes worst effort of the season, a 5-1 loss to the Grizzlies in the opening game of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference, Best-of-Seven Final, Tuesday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.

First period special teams definitely hurt Osoyoos as Revelstoke jumped in front 3-0, thanks to two powerplay goals and a shorthanded tally.

Jack Henderson got the Coyotes on the board before the period was out, but the team had very little to offer the rest of the way.

Kenneth Marquart was pulled in favour of Kenny Gerow midway through the second period after allowing a fifth goal.

The Grizzlies outshot Osoyoos 30-22.

Undisciplined play was also a factor, with the Coyotes racking up 42 minutes in penalties compared to Revelstoke’s eight.

That included a pair of Five Minute Blow to the Head Majors to both Kaleb Kremp and Payton McDonald-Corea, which are likely to result in suspension.

Osoyoos will attempt to even the series at home on Wednesday night, getting underway at 7:35.
