One Bad Period Costs the Coyotes!

If the Osoyoos Coyotes could eliminate the middle period of Friday night’s game at Princeton, they may have very well left town with an upset victory.

As it were, the Posse broke a 1-1 tie with three unanswered second period goals in defeating the Coyotes 5-3.

Osoyoos looked good in both the first and third periods, actually outshooting Princeton 25-20 during the aforementioned 40 minute timeframe.

Nick Vopat, Marcus Dumas and Kaelen Halowaty on the powerplay scored for the Coyotes.

Trailing 4-3, late third period penalties dashed all hopes of completing a comeback as the Posse tallied an insurance marker while on the man advantage.

Final shots were 37-34 in favour of Princeton.  Ryder Hunt suffered the loss in net.

By dropping a fifth straight and with just five regular season games remaining, Osoyoos will be hard pressed to make the playoffs.

The Coyotes are back home on Saturday night (Feb. 14th) against the Kelowna Chiefs.  Start time is 7:00 o’clock, featuring Game Sponsor Save on Foods.
