Ethan O’Rourke and Kaleb Kremp both scored in a (2-1) shootout to give the Coyotes a 5-4 win over North Okanagan, Wednesday night in Armstrong.
Despite dominating most of the game and outshooting the Knights 58-24, Osoyoos almost let things slip away.
The Coyotes actually built a 3-0 lead, before North Okanagan rallied to scored the next four straight and take a 4-3 advantage into the waning moments. However, Kaleb Kremp’s second goal of the night, with Kenny Gerow on the bench in favour of an extra attacker and just 1:48 remaining in regulation time, forced overtime. The five minute extra period was scoreless, resulting in the shootout.
Ethan McKinley and Ethan O’Rourke also tallied for Osoyoos within the first 60 minutes of play.
The narrow decision gives the (16-2-1-2) Coyotes a six game winning streak and stretches their lead atop the Bill Ohlhausen Division to eight points over Summerland.
Osoyoos visits Chase on Friday night (Dec. 10th) and travels to 100 Mile House Saturday night (Dec. 11th).
