The Coyotes and Posse combined for 90 minutes in penalties during a lopsided contest that saw Osoyoos beaten 8-1, Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
Princeton was, without a doubt, the better team. However, it’s up for debate as to whether the Coyotes deserved 62 of the hour-and-a-half worth of infractions. Not according to the majority who witnessed the feisty affair. The Posse had 11 powerplays, converting four of them, with Osoyoos going zero for four on the man advantage. A lengthy middle period is when most of the shenanigans took place.
The only offence the Coyotes could muster was a Jake Torres second period goal. Osoyoos scored just twice in the back-to-back weekend home games, both coming from the aforementioned Torres.
It was a particularly tough night for new Coyotes netminder Sam Koester, who was beaten eight times by his former club. Shots were 32-22 in favour of the visitors.
A third straight loss has dropped Osoyoos into the basement of the Bill Ohlhausen Division, three points back of fifth place Sicamous.
Things don’t get any easier for the Osoyoos Coyotes taking into account a Friday night (Dec. 5th) trip to Kelowna and Saturday night’s (Dec. 6th) 7:00 o’clock hosting of Revelstoke. Those planning to attend the latter, featuring Game Sponsor the Highway to Healing Support Society, are encouraged to bring a new or ‘gently used’ stuffie for the Annual “Christmas Toy Toss,” as well as a donation in support of the Osoyoos Food Bank.
