For the first time all season, Osoyoos was shutout. It came at a crucial time for the Posse, who topped the Coyotes 4-0, Friday night in Princeton.
Between a lack of any ‘puck luck,’ struggles on the powerplay and strong goaltending from Peyton Trzaska, Osoyoos uncharacteristically came away completely empty handed.
The Posse held a 1-0 lead through two periods, before getting a second goal in the opening minute of period third. Two more into an empty net, with Kenny Gerow on the bench, sealed things.
The Coyotes looked anemic with the man advantage, going 0 for 6, which included nothing during a full five minute powerplay early in the second period. That resulted from a five minute major for a check-from-behind to Ethan Floris, who left the game and never returned.
Osoyoos outshot the Posse 41-40.
Game Four in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, Best-of-Seven, Semi-Final goes Saturday night (Feb. 26th) at 7:00, again in Princeton, with the Coyotes still up 2-1 in the series.
