Three unanswered third period goals put the game out of reach as the Thunder Cats cruised to a 7-2 victory over Osoyoos, Friday night in Creston.
The Coyotes actually opened the scoring midway through the first period, a lead that lasted a mere 37 seconds.
Osoyoos trailed 2-1 after the first and 4-2 following 40 minutes.
Russell Weatherhead, already his third goal of the season, and Marcus Dumas provided the offence. The latter drawing the Coyotes to within one at 3-2 early in the second period.
Creston Valley outshot Osoyoos 44-23, including 15-4 in the third.
Jaiden Jakubowski suffered the loss in net, struggling at times while also falling victim to some questionable defensive zone coverage.
Now 1-1 on the early season, the Coyotes hope to get back on track Saturday night when they visit the Kimberley Dynamiters.
