Spencer Fleck Strikes Again!

For the second time in a week, Spencer Fleck scored the overtime winner to give the Osoyoos Coyotes a 3-2 home ice victory over the Castlegar Rebels on Saturday night.

The Coyotes rebounded from a horrendous first period which saw them fall behind 2-0 while being outshot 17-3.

Head Coach Jackson Playfair no doubt read the riot act in the dressing room as from the start of the second period, Osoyoos was a completely different hockey club.

Fleck, with his first of two goals late in the second, finally got the Coyotes on the board.

Ethan Torres tied the game at 8:29 of the third period, eventually forcing the extra five minute session.  For Torres, it was his team leading ninth goal of the season.

Russell Weatherhead assisted on all three markers, allowing him to regain the club scoring lead with 15 points.

Jaiden Jakubowski pick up the win in net.  Osoyoos held a 41-33 shot advantage, including a dominating 38-16 margin from the beginning of the middle period.

With the World Series out of the way, a larger Sun Bowl Arena crowd was treated to another close and exciting game.

Next up for the Coyotes is Friday night’s (Nov. 14th) trip to Merritt, prior to Saturday night’s (Nov. 15th) hosting of Revelstoke beginning at 7:00.  Game Sponsor of the latter is McDonald’s.
