Steam Evens the Series with Overtime Victory!

For the second straight game, Osoyoos and Summerland were tied at the end of regulation, but Saturday night’s result at the Sun Bowl didn’t go the way the Coyotes were hoping as the Steam prevailed 6-5 in overtime.

Osoyoos made another amazing comeback, this time erasing a 4-1 deficit by scoring four unanswered goals.  Kaleb Kremp’s go ahead tally with 9:39 left in the third period put the Coyotes ahead 5-4, a lead that looked as though it would hold up.  However, Summerland tied the game with just 2:05 remaining to force overtime for the second night in-a-row.

Only 1:14 into sudden death, the Steam got the game winner on a self-inflicted, high deflection off a shot from the blueline, which caught Osoyoos netminder Kenny Marquart going the wrong way.

Jack Henderson with a pair of goals, Ethan McKinley and Alex Ochitwa also scored the Coyotes.  Payton McDonald-Corea had three assists.  Ochitwa and Henderson added two helpers apiece.

Marquart suffered the loss.  The Coyotes outshot the Steam 39-29.

The next two games of the Bill Ohlhausen, Best-of-Seven Final will be played at the Summerland Arena, Monday night (Mar. 7th) and Tuesday night (Mar. 8th) respectively, with the series now deadlocked at 1-1.
