It took the Osoyoos Coyotes a few minutes to shake their ‘bus legs,’ but after that they played a solid game at both ends of the ice, blanking the Wranglers 3-0, Friday night in 100 Mile House.
A bouncing puck deflected in off of Parker MacDonald with exactly one minute left in the opening period to give Osoyoos a 1-0 lead. That narrowest of margins actually stood until the final couple of minutes, when a pair of empty net goals sealed the win. The latter two were scored by MacDonald, his second of the night and third in two games, as well as Garrett Kurtz. James Poole added two assists.
Hunter Arntsen stopped all 29 shots he faced to record his third shutout of the season. The Coyotes held a 42-29 shot advantage in a game that, on occasion, featured its fair share of physicality and feistiness.
Osoyoos has pulled two points ahead of idle Kelowna and into sole possession of third place in the Bill Ohlhausen Division. Second place North Okanagan also won on Friday night to stay six points up on the Coyotes.
It’s now off to Chase for a Saturday evening (Feb. 3rd) match up against the Heat.
