The Kootenays are none too kind to the Coyotes!

The Osoyoos Coyotes were overmatched in Kimberley on Saturday night, dropping a 7-1 decision to the Dynamiters.
Goaltender Jaiden Jakubowski was outstanding in the first period, stopping all 19 shots he faced, keeping the game scoreless through 20 minutes.
However, the roof began to cave in early in the second period as the Dynamiters scored shorthanded, even strength and powerplay markers in a span of just 3:45 to force Jakubowski to bench in favour of back up Matthew Sowinski. Making his KIJHL debut, Sowinski allowed four more goals on 24 shots the rest of the way.
Ethan Torres prevented the Coyotes from being shut out by notching the first of his Junior hockey career with only 41 seconds remaining.
Kimberley outshot Osoyoos 49-21 overall, leaving the Coyotes to lick their wounds following an 0-2 road trip which saw them outscored 14-3.
It’s quickly back to the drawing board for Jackson Playfair and his coaching staff in preparation of Wednesday night’s (Oct. 1st) hosting of the Princeton Posse. Game time is 7:00 o’clock at the Sun Bowl Arena.
