The Road Trip Begins on a Winning Note!

Despite having to work around an ongoing injury plagued line-up, further complicated by a recent suspension, the Osoyoos Coyotes still looked solid in downing the Chase Heat 5-2 on Friday night.  A total of 14 skaters should be commended for a job well done.

An uneventful, scoreless first period transitioned into a second period which saw the two teams combine for three goals in just 26-seconds.

Jack Henderson got the Coyotes on the board with the man advantage, only to see Chase tie the game 13-second later, followed by an unassisted Garrett Kurtz effort a mere 13-seconds after that.  Coletyn Boyarski’s first of two gave Osoyoos a 3-1 lead headed for the third.

The Heat got to within one at 3-2 near the midway mark of the final period, before Boyarksi’s second of the night and 30th of the season, as well as a Zach Leslie powerplay tally, left little doubt as to the outcome.  Ethan McKinley added three assists.

The Coyotes outshot Chase 38-26, which included an 18-6 second period margin.  Rhett Harkot earned the decision in net.

Saturday night (Feb. 4th), Osoyoos travels to 100 Mile House to face the Wranglers.
