Third Period Comeback Leads to Victory!

Koehn Obuck (pictured above) scored with 2:31 left in regulation to give the Coyotes a huge 3-2 decision over the Eagles, Friday night in Sicamous.  Keegan Dirks tallied his first Junior hockey goal and a Jake Torres short-handed marker early in the third tied the game.

Sam Koester picked up the win in his Osoyoos goaltending debut.  Both times he was beaten were on breakaways.  Final shots were 41-39 for the Eagles.  Koester was acquired from the Princeton Posse for a player development fee this past Wednesday.  He currently tops all KIJHL netminders with a 2.13 goals against average.

The Coyotes lead 1-0 after 20 minutes, but trailed 2-1 entering the third period.  The penalty kill was particularly impressive, which included staving off a five minute Sicamous powerplay.  The Eagles went zero for five with the man advantage.

Osoyoos now sits three points ahead of Sicamous in the Bill Ohlhausen Division.
