Unhealthy Coyotes No Match for the Nitehawks!

Two things were working against the Osoyoos Coyotes heading into their Friday night home encounter with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.  Firstly, they had to face one of the KIJHL’s top teams.  Secondly, to a man, the players found themselves fighting a nasty virus circulating throughout the club.  The unfortunate result was a lopsided 9-2 setback.

The Nitehawks dominated from the outset, putting up a four spot in both the opening and second period, chasing starting netminder Ryder Hunt after he allowed a sixth goal.

Jake Torres accounted for the two Osoyoos markers, the latter coming on the powerplay.  Mason Rudolph assisted on each.

Despite such a disparity, final shots weren’t all that overwhelming at 34-24 in favour of Beaver Valley.

The Coyotes hope to recover in time for Saturday night’s (Jan. 31st) short road trip to Princeton.
